Campaign “For an Even More Enchanting Croatia!” at the EU Funds Fair in Šibenik

07.10.2019. On 6 October 2019, the EU Funds Fair was held in Šibenik, where the citizens could learn a lot about the programmes and projects co-financed with European funding. At the stand of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, the citizens could find out more about the importance of waste separation, as well as about the information and education project “For an Even More Enchanting Croatia!”.

The fair was designed and organised as part of the “Regional Development and EU Funds Days”, a conference organised for the past several years by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds as a series of information and education events in cooperation with the institutions in the system of management and control of utilisation of EU funds.

The conference was held in the period 4 – 6 October 2019 in Šibenik, with the aim of informing all stakeholders about the status of the equal regional development policy, and the possibilities for financing local and regional development projects from EU funds.

This year, more than 700 participants attended the conference and took part in the panels, lectures, and workshops. The Fair of EU projects and the Croatian Island Products Festival took place on Sunday 6 October 2019 from 10:00 to 14:00 in Šibenik, at Pavle Šubić Square, where the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund presented their programmes and projects, together with the environmental information and education campaign “For an Even More Enchanting Croatia!”. The aim of the campaign is raising awareness of the citizens and informing them about the importance of sorting waste at source, and developing the so-called circular, instead of linear economy. Minister of regional development, Marko Pavić, head of Šibenik-Knin County, Goran Pauk, and the mayor of Šibenik, Željko Burić, visited all exhibitors at the Fair.
