ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus initiative

On 14 September, the 2017 ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus initiative published the 3rd Joint Call for Transnational RDD Projects on Smart Grids. European RDD consortia were invited to submit project proposals by 14 November 2017.

Submission of project proposals

Project proposals have to be submitted in the central ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus Electronic Submission System ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus by 14 November 2017, at 14:00 hours (CET).

The Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund requires the applicants from Croatia submitting project proposals to comply with the Fund’s regulations in the case of submission of the additional documentation. This documentation will not be submitted using the central ERA-Ne Smart Grids Plus

Electronic Submission System, and instead it will be submitted directly to the Fund.

The interested applicants from Croatia submitting project proposals have to contact the Fund by telephone or e-mail in the consultation period, meaning until the deadline for the submission for project proposals, in order to obtain the instructions about the method of submitting the additional documentation.

Aim of the Call

The overall goal of ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus is to support deep knowledge sharing between European smart grids initiatives by promoting and financing joint projects.

Who can apply

The following eligibility criteria will apply for project proposals:

  • The project must be transnational by nature, involving at least two independent entities and at least two different countries of the ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus partners.
  • The project team must submit a full project proposal, adhering to both the ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus initiative’s and the involved national/regional funding agencies’ requirements.

Please note that individual funding agencies defined further specifications and eligibility criteria according to national/regional regulations. The complete set of national/regional requirements is published in the in the Call text document (Annex A).

Compulsory advisory period

During the advisory period (14 September – 14 November 2017), the Applicants are obliged to contact the Fund. In the communication process, the Fund can give feedback to the Applicants regarding the scope, eligibility, and desirability of the project proposal. This will give the Applicants the opportunity to review project proposals and collect all the necessary information about the requirements of the Fund in relation to applying the project proposal. This especially refers to the list of the mandatory documentation comprising the application for registration at national level, and the description of its submission to the Fund.

Solely the project proposals which apply to the Fund for the national funding will have the right to submit the complete project proposal.

Further specifications

The award of funding shall be carried out pursuant to the

regulations of the Fund.

All eligible applicants can get the co-financing in the amount of up

to the maximum of 40% of the total eligible project costs.

Entrepreneurs are subject to the provisions of the Programme for

granting de minimis aid in the field of environmental protection,

energy efficiency, and use of renewable energy sources.

The list of documentation required for national application and

description of the submission procedure will be available to

the interested applicants during the advisory period exclusively at

their request directed to the contact person by telephone 

or e-mail.
