10.08.2020. With the aim of promoting separate waste collection and establishing a more efficient waste management system on the islands, the Fund has published the call for co-financing the transport of waste from island to island/mainland worth HRK 4 million. A public service provider can receive the grant of up to 60% to cover part of the cost for the transport of waste by sea.
The purpose of this Public Call is to establish a better, more consistent and cost-effective waste management system on the islands in compliance with the principles of sustainable development, environmental and nature protection, the protection of public interest, and to promote the improvement of separate waste collection on the islands.
Co-financing can be approved for the costs related solely to the transport of waste by sea from island to island/mainland in the period from 1 January to 31 December 2020, which are not included in the service cost. The transport includes municipal waste if there is no option to dispose of it on the island, biodegradable waste (waste paper and cardboard, and bio-waste), and recyclable waste (waste plastics, waste metal, waste glass, and waste textile).
The Public Call was published in the Official Gazette on 8 July 2020 OG 90/2020, and it will remain open until either the resources have been used up, or until 31 December 2020. Detailed documentation can be found at https://www.fzoeu.hr/hr/nacionalni_javni_pozivi_i_natjecaji/.
