10.07.2019. Informative workshop on the Public Call for co-financing the projects on the concepts of “smart cities and municipalities” held today at the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund.
“Today’s workshop was held with the aim of ensuring that the projects that will be applied to the Public Call are prepared properly, thus enabling the towns and municipalities to manage urban resources appropriately and in a quality manner. Raising public awareness of the importance of development and application of the new technological, organisational, and logistic solutions is vital in order to improve the quality of life of the citizens,” said Irena Dubravec from the Energy Efficiency Sector of the Fund during the workshop.
The best practice example from Municipality Dubrava was delivered in the presentation by municipality head Tomislav Okroša and the representative of the company Transmitters and Communications Ltd. (OIV), while the best practice example from the City of Zagreb was presented by Ivan Ivanković, the assistant chief at the City office for economy, Energy, and environmental protection, along with Nera Pavić, also the assistant chief, and Sanja Malnar Neralić, head of the Department for implementation and coordination of Smart City projects – Zagreb Smart City.
In this Public Call the Fund will grant HRK 8 mil. to smart towns and municipalities for the following fields: economy, improving the safety of citizens and property, sustainable transport, energy management, environmental protection, climate change, town, municipality and services management, and education and quality of life of the citizens. The allocated sum can amount up to 40, 60 or 80 percent, i.e. not more than 200 thousand kunas per application, and the applicant can submit the maximum of two applications.
Considerable interest in the workshop points to the need to offer the citizens the best solutions oriented toward the development of integral and sustainable towns and municipalities.
