“The Fund invested around 5 million kunas in the preparation of the project documentation for the construction of the Centre and 6 transfer stations, while the overall eligible costs amount to the massive 454 million kunas. 6 transfer stations will be built in the vicinity of WMC (in Split, Sinj, Zagvozd, and on the islands Brač, Hvar, and Vis). The goal is to establish an integrated non-hazardous waste landfill for the at WMC that will allow remediation and closure of the existing 15 noncompliant landfills in this county that will, as a result, contribute to environmental protection.

Along with EU funding (71%), the remaining part of co-financing will be provided by the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund in the amount of 19%, and Split-Dalmatia County with 10%.
