Contract worth HRK 86 million signed for the construction of WMC Lećevica

“The overall value of the project is 454 million kunas. 71% of eligible costs is financed with EU funding, i.e. 322.5 million kunas. The Fund provided almost 19 percent, while the remaining 10 percent will be financed by Split-Dalmatia County,” said Maja Feketić from the Fund.
The total eligible costs for the implementation of the Waste Management Centre Lećevica project in Split-Dalmatia County include: design and construction of the centre, engineer supervision services, construction of six transfer stations, and supervision of construction of transfer stations (in Split, Sinj, Zagvozd, on Brač, Hvar, and Vis), purchase of mobile equipment for the centre, technical assistance services and project management, and publicity and visibility services. The aim of the project is establishing an integrated and sustainable waste management system in Split-Dalmatia County.
Utility company Regionalni centar čistog okoliša, the beneficiary of the funds, has conducted public procurement procedure and concluded the relevant contracts with the most advantageous tenderers for public relations services for this project, engineer supervision of design and construction works, and technical assistance for the construction. It is expected that project implementation will start soon, seeing as the public procurement process for the design and contraction of the Waste Management Centre Lećevica is under way.
