Director of the Fund Luka Balen, together with deputy Prime Minister and minister Branko Bačić, and minister of regional development and EU funds Šime Erlić, paid a working visit to Nin. At the meeting with mayor Emil Ćurko, they discussed the remediation of illegal landfill in the former military base 'Šepurine' and the removal of chimneys and other facilities in the former brickworks 'Branko Štulić'.An analysis of the current situation was presented, and further steps and activities were agreed, while the actions of different stakeholders in the process were harmonised. Minister Bačić emphasized that the Government of the Republic of Croatia is interested in helping with the remediation of landfills, naturally in cooperation with local government units, and promised Mayor Ćurk that communication on this topic would continue.
Director Balen offered the Fund's expert assistance in preparing base documents for the development of the rehabilitation project, emphasising the good cooperation thus far in the implementation of projects that have been co-financed by the Fund for the Town of Nin so far.
