The Fund is implementing a pilot-project of electrification of households with no access to the HEP ODS grid for the socially most vulnerable groups of citizens. The Fund will install PV electricity-generating systems in seven family houses in Požega-Slavonija and Sisak-Moslavina Counties.

The Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund will implement a pilot-project of electrification of households with no access to the HEP ODS grid for the socially most vulnerable groups of citizens. The Fund will install PV electricity-generating systems in seven family houses in Požega-Slavonija and Sisak-Moslavina Counties, which due to technical and/or financial reasons cannot be connected to the power grid. Along with the installation and maintenance of the PV system, the assistance package will also include a backup generator, LED bulbs, and an energy-efficient refrigerator.

“The value of this pilot-project is around 480 thousand kunas,” said Directors of the Fund Siniša Kukić upon signing the contract with the successful contractor, the company Eco system d.o.o. It is planned to extend this project across Croatia to enable future electrification of all family houses that have no access to the power grid for socially vulnerable groups.

Director Kukić added that was one of the Fund’s programmes aimed at reducing energy poverty, so last year the Fund launched the Public Call for energy renovation of family houses for the most vulnerable groups of citizens, and around HRK 16 million was approved for 89 renovation projects.
