24.08.2018.

The renovation of Bjelovar General Hospital should start soon, with the investment worth HRK 8.2 million, and the agreement on co-financing of this project was signed today by the director of the Fund, Dubravko Ponoš, and hospital administrator AliAllouch, MD. As part of the renovation, gynaecology clinic wing will be overhauled, general medicine outpatient clinic, women’s outpatient clinic and accompanying departments, and dental medicine wing.

“Renovation of these buildings will have numerous advantages and positive impacts, from better air quality and comfort of the rooms, to a reduced need for heating or air-conditioning, consequently resulting in a reduction of overhead costs and maintenance costs.“, said Director of the Fund Dubravko Ponoš.

He commented that lately he was often visiting this County, the reason being that in the latest tenders 80.6 million kuna from EU funds had been granted for the renovation of 25 kindergartens and schools in the County, as well as almost 5 million kuna for Bjelovar Hospital.

Head of County Damir Bajs, who also attended the signing of the agreement, is pleased by these figures. “According to the information form the Fund, we are the 2nd most successful county in Croatia in terms of withdrawal of EU funds for energy renovation projects. So, our County has become one large construction site, because there will not be a single municipality or town left in Bjelovar-Bilogora County without the investment in an energy renovation project going on that is successfully utilising EU funds”, concluded Damir Bajs.

He and Director Ponoš also visited the Regional School Predavac where the energy renovation works are currently under way.
