The purpose of this Public Call is to establish a better, more consistent and cost-effective waste management system on the islands in compliance with the principles of sustainable development, environmental and nature protection, the protection of public interest, and to promote the improvement of separate waste collection on the islands.
Co-financing can be approved for the costs related solely to the transport of waste by sea from island to island/mainland in the period from 1 January to 31 December 2020, which are not included in the service cost. The transport includes municipal waste if there is no option to dispose of it on the island, biodegradable waste (waste paper and cardboard, and bio-waste), and recyclable waste (waste plastics, waste metal, waste glass, and waste textile).
