Working meeting on joint projects of the Fund and the Town of Poreč

The topics discussed in the meeting included cooperation of the Fund and Poreč regarding the implementation of the projects so far, the implementation of the projects that are financed under the Operational Programme Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014 – 2020, the waste management system in Istria and Poreč, and the Fund’s national public calls in the field of environmental protection, energy efficiency, and use of renewable energy sources, which are open for application to the units of local self-government and public institutions.

The focus was put on the energy renovation project of the kindergarten building “Radost II”. By applying to the 2018 public call by IRENA (Istrian Regional Energy Agency) for financing the preparation of project documentation for improving energy efficiency in public buildings classified as cultural good, the Town of Poreč-Parenzo was granted 100 percent financing for said building, and to-date has completed the preparation of the project documentation for improving energy efficiency, as well as the conservation base documents. As such, the project is ready to be applied to the calls of the Fund for energy renovation of public buildings.

The participants also discussed the projects previously applied to by the utility company Usluga Poreč for the purchase of special vehicles and containers for separate waste collection. They also discussed the Smart City project that would introduce, apart from the digitalisation of administration, Smart Parking project in Poreč, and the Town is also planning to apply to the public call for co-financing the use of renewable energy sources in public buildings and install a PV plant on the building of the Poreč Care Home.

Mayor Loris Peršurić pointed out that Poreč would give priority to the project documentation preparation and development in order to be prepared to apply for co-financing as soon as the Fund launched the calls.

The representatives of Poreč were: the mayor, his deputy Elio Štifanić, Morena Mičetić-Fabić, the head of the General Administration and Economy Department, Gordana Lalić, the director of the company Parentium d.o.o. for energy efficiency and environmental protection, Milan Laković, the director of the utility company Usluga Poreč, and Dunja Babić, senior expert advisor for economy and development projects, while the representatives of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund included: Aleksandra Čilić, the head of the Environmental Protection Sector; Suada Mustajbegović, the head of the Energy Efficiency Sector, Maja Rajčić, the head of Intermediate Body Level 2, Petra Zgomba, advisor to the director, Hrvojka Petrović Grahli, the head of the Director’s Office, and Lidija Tošić, the head of the Public Relations Department.
